Program of the first Alumni Association, organized on April 23, 1881, then called the Concord Normal Reunion. It was made up of the Alumni and others who had attended the school for at least two sessions. It met annually, on the evening before commencement. The object was "To keep alive the memories and friendships of school days and to afford mutual assistance in after life".
After transaction of business, orations were given and essays read by members, appointed for the purpose, according to the 1891-92 catalog. The first president was J.W. Hinkle. James F. Holroyd was secretary, and A.P. Farley, W.W. King and Harvey Ewarts were vice-presidents. J.A. Bruce was treasurer.
The Alumni Association is very active today, with several thousand graduates and non-graduates on the list of alumni.
