REGISTRATION TO VOTE

Voters may register at the courthouse, on special mail-in application forms, at drivers' license offices, state public assistance agencies, offices which serve people with disabilities, marriage license offices, and military recruiting offices.

If you will be 18 by the upcoming election, you may register to vote unless your are under conviction for a felony, including probation or parole, or a court ruling of mental incompetence. You must be a resident of West Virginia and the county where you register.

If you register to vote by the mail-in application form, you will need to show identification when you vote, or register now by downloading a mail-in registration form from the Secretary of State's website, www.wvsos.com/elections.

If it is close to a deadline, registering at the county clerk's office is the best place to go to be certain you will be on the books on election day.

For more information, contact your county clerk's office or the Secretary of State, 304-558-6000.

ABSENTEE VOTING

NEW! ANY registered voter may vote an absentee ballot in person in the COUNTY clerk's office. Absentee voting is no longer in the circuit clerk's office.
